How it Works:

1. Mail in or bring in at least a 1" by 1" sample of the surface you are trying to recolor.

  • For example, if you are working on a car's seat, then you can bring/mail in a head rest.
  • Or, if you are working on a piece of furniture, then you can bring/mail in a piece of the fabric from the bottom of the furniture or a full cushion.

2. Once we receive the sample, then he will create a color match for you in any size bottle, from 8 ounces to a gallon or an aerosol in either SEM Color Coat, SEM Sure-Coat or SEM Aerospace.

3. He then will ship it out to you or you can come by and pick it up.

FAQs:

  • What is the cost? To create the color match the lab fee is $35 plus the cost of the paint. Once the color is created and you have the four digit SEM formula number, then we can create the color for you again and again without the lab fee.
  • How long does the process take? It depends how busy the lab is, but typically Scott will complete the color match within two days of receiving the swatch.
  • How much paint do I need for job? One ounce of paint typically covers one square foot. Therefore, an 8 oz bottle would cover 8 sq. ft. An aerosol covers 8-10 sq. ft.
  • What address do I send my swatch? 1935 Davis Lane, Marietta, GA 30067 attn: Scott.
  • What do I need to include with the swatch when mailing it in? Please include your contact information and an explanation of the project. Scott will call you when he receives it to finalize what you need and collect payment.
  • What is the difference between SEM Sure-Coat and Color Coat? Sure-Coat is water based. It can be applied by a foam brush or reduced down and sprayed. It works best on vinyl and leather. Color Coat is solvent based and is ready to spray. It can dry out leather so it is best to use it on vinyl, plastic or carpet.
  • Can you return a custom color? We do not allow returns of custom colors as each order is one of a kind.
